Why is there a SATA port on my portable DVD player?

I’ve had my portable DVD player for about 3 years, but It’s been bugging me for a while now why it has a SATA port on it. It is labelled as an “E-PORT”, and it is located between the headphone jack and the AV IN/OUT switch. Why is it there and what is it capable of doing?

The portable DVD player is made by Ferguson.

SATA is basically a port to connect a hardrive. Therefore if you buy a hardrive with SATA capability you can connect it to your dvd player to watch movies.

It is not a SATA (hard drive) port. It is also called an AXi port and can be used to connect accessories, like a SEGA game console. Look at the manual for more details.
