I am leaving the country for vacation for about 2 months with my 2 yr old son, and I need a dvd player on the international flight going to Hong Kong as it should keep my son busy for the 15 hr flight. Could anyone help here? I know I probably could get one for about $50 here in the US but one of the purpose of this trip is to buy a portable dvd player there as I know I can get a much better deal there. (means, more functions, more accessories with abt the same price w/o tax).

I’m sure you could find one at Rent-A-Center for a reasonable price that you could rent for 2 months. Check it out!

You can get one cheaper than that at a pawn shop.

Some airports have a DVD rental center where you can rent in one city and drop off in another. However, I doubt that Hong Kong has one, though you could check.
Be aware that if you buy the DVD player in Hong Kong, it will have 220 voltage, and to be able to use it in the US you’ll need a voltage converter. Be sure to get a “dual voltage” one, or one that is specifically for 110.

gosh, this is really become a very expensived DVD player. Flying to Hong Kong, to save taxes??? and do not want to buy one for $50.00????????????
And about the cost of a converter??? 220V to 110V.
