Do airport x-rays ruin portable DVD players?

I took my portable DVD player with me on the plane both times, but didn’t use it. When I got back, I tried to use it but the screen is blank. I’ve tried fiddling with it and charging it, and turning it on and off and using different DVD’s, but nothing works. The sound works, but the picture doesn’t.

Did the airport x-rays ruin it? I had it in my backpack and it was with me the whole time, except when it went through the screener. So I didn’t drop it or anything.
Man, now I have to buy another one!!! Grrrrr….

That is a big no.
X-ray will not ruin a portable DVD player.
You probably smacked it on something.

Xrays can ruin 35mm film but it will not hurt a DVD player or a DVD.

No way. They don’t. It’s not possible to ruin a DVD player just with X-rays…
